Sometimes I don’t like doing the wash and go thing. I want to jazz it up! Along my natural hair journey I have struggled to come up with styles for my hair 😩 The struggle can be real so I wanted to share 4 styles that work for me when I blow dry my hair or stretch it!
- Large Flat twists
This is one of my favorite styles when I blow dry my hair. It’s cute, quick and I can easily redo my hair if I need to without a lot of work. After twisting the front I tucked a cute bun to finish off this look in the back. You can do the back however you like but I usually do a bun. So, if you can do flat twists and have not tried this style…what are you waiting on?! Give it a try!

- Large Braids
Old faithful! Braiding a halo or simple large braids on each side of my head is also a go to style. This style can be a tad bit trickier when it’s time to refresh it because of the 3 strands needed to braid. While braiding my hair it can sometimes get tangled and it’s not as easy to re do if needed. But it’s not impossible to spruce this style up if need be. It’s still a go to for me. If rain or water is involved in my day I’m definitely doing the braid over the twist ANY day.

- Flat Twist Crown
This style is a small adjustment to the 1st flat twist style. Instead of twisting the hair back, I twisted the hair towards the front, then I criss crossed the twists and put a few accessories in my hair to jazz it up. This style is cute for an event where you might want an elegant look….or not 🤷🏾♀️ but it’s another option!

- Bantu Knots
Last but not least are the Bantu knots. Bantu knots are not only cute but if you do them all over you can take them down and have a cute wavy hairstyle! Come on 2 in 1 hairstyle!🙌🏾. On this pic I’m holding the back down just to put the focus more on the front. I also added two flat twists to the front with gold accessories. As for the the back… I might wear it down, pulled into a fluffy ponytail/bun, curls, or make it completely Bantu knots all over. Either way this is also a cute option that is stylish and with a few accessories you can take it up another notch on the jazzy scale!

The natural hair journey can be frustrating at times when it comes to trying to figure out options for hairstyles. I know at one point I was wearing a style so much my family started to complain😂. After that I stepped out of my comfort zone and started to try more styles. If you’re struggling to find a style for your beautiful natural hair I truly hope that this helps. It can get hard staying motivated to make the natural thing work but don’t ever forget that you’re not alone! We’re all in the same boat 😳 We’re figuring this thing out as we go! We’re setting the path for naturalists after us! You can do it! Now go try out these styles!😉💜
